How to Work Smarter, Not Harder with Google Forms

Have you ever been drowning in emails? Not spam, I mean the important ones? We’ve all been there right? When you have an inbox full of emails it is easy to become frozen with fear. The very thought of diving in feels unbearable.

It is time to work smarter, not harder.

This was the exact case for a potential customer who recently reached out to Core Communication and Consulting. Over one lunch hour we were able to identify a solution.

THE SCENARIO: Our client oversees issuing professional development certificates for her organization. While proud that her workshops were popular among attendees, her subsequent workload became unbearable.

Core Communication and Consulting helped our client find an easier, and semi-automated solution.

THE SOLUTION: For the next event, our client will create and upload the certificate of completion in her Google Drive with “Anyone with the link” share settings.

Secondly, for each future event our client will create a Google Form for the participants to complete. A Google Form is a great tool primarily because it will create a Google Sheet with aggregated responses.

In addition, a great feature of the Google Form is the ability to send a confirmation message to individuals who complete the form. In the settings of the Form, our client wrote a brief response that included a link for participants to access their certificates.

At the conclusion of the event, the Google Form link will be provided to participants. When the From is complete guests will have immediate access to their certificate. This new and simple process eliminates the need for participants to email the client, overwhelming her inbox and creating a backlog.

THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER: Because a Google Form allows my client to tailor the fields collecting only the information she desires; who attended, their license information, employer and contact information she has all her data in one place (the Sheet) and not scattered all over her inbox. The participants are happy to have access to their certificate and a process is born!
