If you have a website that you edit and update yourself, you probably have experienced that dreadful pit in your stomach because you know it is not enough to have a website. Your website needs attention and thinking about where to begin causes knots in your stomach.

I mean, unless you are an SEO expert or website designer.

The rest of us, the small business owners and entrepreneurs, the dreamers and content creators, KNOW we need a website but rely heavily on templates and free versions to look legitimate.

So here is my biggest tip when it comes to updating your website; you can click and change with confidence on most web design sites because until you hit SAVE, everything you have done can be undone.

That’s right! Move text boxes, insert an image, change a font … none of it will stick until you hit SAVE. 

But how do you know if the changes you have made are the right ones for you? Look for a PREVIEW button. You can update your page and PREVIEW it without making any permanent changes! You can see exactly what you have done without changing anything for your viewer!

When are satisfied with your changes, return to the editing mode and now you are free to SAVE with confidence! (Check out this easy to follow WordPress tutorial for details.)

 See? You can do it! You can be the master of your own website! You can control the content! You can keep your page updated! You can learn and grow and successfully market your business or brand.
